A late couple’s photo is installed on a wall. The Old Lady comes to life and notices her husband in the photo next to hers. They, now both alive, try to get closer. Accidentally, they manage to do so.
Alireza Mirzaee, a gifted artist and filmmaker, was born in 1980 in Karaj, Iran. Her creative journey ignited with a passion for art, leading to a Painting diploma from Velayat Vocational School in 1999. She further honed her skills, graduating with a puppetry bachelor’s degree from Sooreh University of Tehran in 2008.
Elevating her career, Alireza became a member of ASIFA Iran in 2010, marking a significant milestone. Her exploration of painting in high school paved the way for her deep dive into puppetry and animation. Crafting a stop-motion animation for her academic dissertation highlighted her blend of artistic fervor and cinematic curiosity.
During her student years, Alireza’s immersion in the interplay between puppets and cameras shaped her artistic vision. Her professional journey encompassed impactful roles in short and feature films as a photographer, notably influencing her strong connection to stop-motion animation.
