To raise money for her dog’s surgery, a picture framer must quickly sell a painting –– over the opposition of the artist friend who gifted it to her.
David Zax is a filmmaker, playwright, and journalist based in New York. His journalism has appeared in “The New York Times” and “This American Life,” and his plays have been developed or produced by Williamstown Theatre Festival and Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse.
He is represented by UTA and Kaplan/Perrone, and has projects in development by Lionsgate, A.C.E. Entertainment, Popcorn Storm, and Parkes/Macdonald.
“Payment in Kind” is his first film.
