We hear that a lot from visitors coming all the way from Houghton or Minocqua or Duluth to see Art in the Park, or people popping into the Depot to catch Emberlight Photographers on their way through town. The secret is out — Ironwood is a hub for artists.

SIX UNIQUE ART SHOWS COME TO TOWN THIS SUMMER
The western Upper Peninsula turns into an artistic haven over the summer with an exciting lineup of six must-see art shows and two special photography events. Art in the Park invites you to explore art in the great outdoors, with local artists showcasing their work in the beautiful Miners Memorial Heritage Park. This summer, we are bringing a special exhibit to the heart of the park called The Seventh Fire: A Decolonizing Experience. The Seventh Fire is presented in partnership with the Beaumier Upper Peninsula Heritage Center and is a powerful exhibit that explores the past, present, and future of Anishinaabe resilience.
Emberlight’s other iconic art show, Emberlight Photographers, returns to the Historic Depot Museum. Featuring the work of our dedicated photography team, these photos will take your breath away. Plus, you can take a photo home with you! All photos are featured in an online auction through July and August.
We debut a new event, Pathways in Photography, this summer which brings free photography classes with our pros in photojournalism, nature photography, and portraiture. All levels welcome, from phones to legit equipment! Later in July our photographers sit down at Theatre North for an intimate event of Click • Capture • Create, where the team shares photography tips and regales us with the stories behind their best shots.
Emberlight is proud to partner with two local organizations, Range Art Association and Downtown Art Place, to present more art shows so you get to know our artistic community here in the Northwoods. Throughout July the DAP brings its summertime Find Your North show to their gallery on Aurora Street. Over the first weekend of August the RAA Studio Tours offer a rare glimpse into the creative spaces of local artists from Big Powderhorn to Little Girl’s Point. To help celebrate the final weekend of our 2025 festival, the RAA presents its 71st annual Art Show & Market, showcasing a wide range of regional words, from fine art to handcrafted treasures.
