Ken Wiele

Ken Wiele is a retired teacher who spent 35 years as a band director in Kenosha, Wisconsin. A graduate of Lawrence University and Carthage College, Ken was recognized as “Teacher of the Year” and received a Kohl Fellowship in recognition for his work as an innovator in the classroom. Ken was a semi-finalist for the Grammy Educator of the Year Award in 2014 and 2015. Ken is an avid photographer and fisherman and enjoys spending time in the beautiful woods of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. In retirement, Ken has taken photography workshops with Mieke Boynton, Marc Muench, Erik Kuna, and Lisa Langell. Ken’s image “Gentle Care” was selected first place in the nature category of the Lake Superior Magazine Photo Contest in 2021.
