Growing up as a member of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa led Michael to dedicate his artistic gifts to teaching about Native history, culture, and spirituality. His work as both a visual and performance artist is woven together with the traditional wisdom of the Anishinaabe people. Michael is a frequent performer at Big Top Chautauqua in Bayfield.
