RIFT

Farhad Bakhtiarikish received his education in screenwriting and directing in Los Angeles, CA. As a refugee from Iran, he arrived in Sweden as a child with his family. Since then, he has had the opportunity to travel the world and experience a multitude of cultures, which has shaped his unique perspective in his storytelling. After finishing his studies in Los Angeles, he continued to develop his screenwriting skills under the guidance of producer Heidi Jo Markels at Eclectic Pictures, where he was asked to stay to strengthen his screenwriting abilities.

Since moving back to Sweden, in addition to writing and directing, Farhad has worked as a First Assistant Director and Location Manager on several television series and feature films. Most recently, he worked on the Netflix series The Playlist (2022) and the feature film Sisters (2023).

His latest short film RIFT is competing in the 53rd edition of the Tampere Film Festival 2023 in Finland. RIFT is a science fiction/romantic short film that explores the human need for technology in a future life. Farhad is driven by his curiosity to explore the impact of technology on human lives, both in the past and future.
