TORCH SONGS & RHAPSODIES SEASON Art in the Park, Performance Infusions, Emberlight Photographers and Tenor Talks are…
Experience the extraordinary this season at Emberlight. Our TORCH SONGS & RHAPSODIES season introduces classical chamber music to our stages alongside our annual art shows, Performance Infusions and International Film Festival. But we aren’t stopping there — We are transforming Theatre North and creating a singular home for our cabarets and film festival.
In addition to our world-class performances and film screenings, we’re throwing a party! There will be surprises on stage and off with premium VIP tables along the side of the stage. The tables feature luxury seating, an exclusive (and complimentary!) international wine & beer list, and the very best seats in the house. One thing we know for sure is Ironwood has never seen a night like The Ember Club.
The TORCH SONGS & RHAPSODIES season kicks off on June 29 with the Grand Opening of Art in the Park and a special Performance Infusion in the Miners Memorial Heritage Park. Performance Infusions continue to run throughout July and are always free & fun for the entire family. Our annual Photography Show is back on July 17 with more photographs than ever before at the Historic Depot Museum.
New this summer will be three special master classes with Miles Mykkanen at the Hurley School Auditorium. Our Artistic Director will preview some of the music we will see later in the festival, while giving sensational insights into the life of an international opera singer. No musical experience necessary; come and learn something new on July 9, 10 and 11. If you attend all three evenings, you’ll receive a complimentary ticket to Broadway & Dvorak on August 22!
The Ember Club opens on August 15 with cabarets, film screenings, and closes on August 23 with our annual award show The Embys. This summer we are also thrilled to present The Broadway Strings in chamber music concerts at the Hurley School Auditorium on August 22 and 24. This singular string quartet performs iconic repertoire from the classical music canon alongside one-of-a-kind arrangements of Broadway overtures and medleys. On August 22 Adam Rothenberg plays Dvořák’s Piano Quintet No. 2 with The Broadway Strings, and Miles Mykkanen joins the ensemble on August 24 for an unforgettable performance to close our 2024 season.
Emberlight strives to create the unexpected for our audiences in the western Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin. In our first three years, we attracted visitors from Mexico, Canada, Finland and Spain, and 36 states across the country. We are putting Ironwood and Hurley on the map as a destination for artists and audiences alike. Plus, the majority of our festival is absolutely free and the average ticket price for The Ember Club and Broadway Strings concerts is only $19.
Whether you buy tickets, purchase Photography Show prints, donate money, volunteer your time, or simply experience Art in the Park on a sunny July afternoon — you are part of the Emberlight family. We can’t wait to see you next summer!
Enjoy our cabarets and film screenings in luxury seating and the best locations at Theatre North. Each table features complimentary wine and beer from our exclusive menu only available at the VIP tables.
