David Braithwaite is a retired State Park Ranger who concluded his career in the Porcupine Mountains, a landscape that continues to inspire much of his photography today. A passionate landscape photographer, David is especially drawn to the rugged beauty of the Porkies — from sweeping wilderness vistas to the glow of the northern lights and the brilliance of the Milky Way stretching across the night sky.
He also serves as the Photography Coordinator for the Porcupine Mountains Music Festival, where his work helps capture the spirit and beauty of one of the region’s most beloved cultural events.
Whether photographing dramatic skies, quiet forests, or loons guiding their chicks across calm water from the seat of his canoe, David’s images reflect a deep connection to the Northwoods and the peaceful rhythms of the natural world.
