Emberlight’s 2024 season kicks off on June 29 with the opening of Art in the Park, a series of original outdoor artworks by artists from across the upper Midwest. At turns funny, beautiful, and thought provoking, these artworks perfectly capture this season’s theme of “Torch Songs & Rhapsodies” — a celebration of big emotions and the ethereal magic of the arts.
Visitors will discover the large art creations nestled among the beauty of Miners Memorial Heritage Park, along the Aurora Loop. The multi-media works are part of Emberlight’s mission to make art available and accessible to our entire community. You’ll even have the chance to vote online for your favorites (and the winning artist receives $1,000!)
ACCESSIBILITY: The Hurley Schools Booster Club is graciously providing a golf cart so we can offer visitors accessible rides around Art in the Park. Tours will be Tuesday and Friday throughout July and August from 11am – 2pm, and also on Saturdays in July for our Performance Infusions. You can reserve a tour in our Box Office or online at emberlight.org/park-tours
Join Emberlight’s artists and performers in the park on June 29 for an opening ceremony at 12pm, followed by festivities throughout the park until 3pm. We also hope to see you at our annual awards show, THE EMBYS, to celebrate our Art in the Park prize winners!
Art in the Park is also home to Emberlight’s Performance Infusions series. The Infusions are on Saturdays at 1pm and are FREE to attend. Our 2024 Infusions include: Bizhiki Company (June 29), Logging, Legends and Lore (July 6), Whittling in the Woods (July 13), and Fantastic Folk Tunes (July 27).

We are excited to announce guided tours of ART IN THE PARK with Dr. Jim Franck!
With deep gratitude to the Hurley Booster Club for lending a golf cart to Emberlight for the rest of the summer, we are offering free tours of the park this summer.
SAVE ON YOUR TRIP TO NYC THIS YEAR. EXPERIENCE EMBERLIGHT INSTEAD.
Your favorites like Art in the Park, Emberlight Photographers and Performance Infusions are back this summer and totally FREE. New this season are free master classes with our Artistic Director and international tenor Miles Mykkanen in a series we’re calling Tenor Talks.
The International Film Festival, Cabarets and our new Chamber Music series will set our stages ablaze in August. We are transforming Theatre North into The Ember Club and bringing big city vibes to Ironwood. Then we’ll be “jumping across the border” to Hurley, WI for rhapsodic chamber music concerts with Adam Rothenberg and The Broadway Strings.
Over 60% of our festival is absolutely free. The average ticket price is $19. Young adults 20 years old and younger get free tickets to every event.
In 2023 we welcomed audiences from 36 states, Finland, Spain, Canada and Mexico to our events. Help us continue to turn Ironwood and Hurley into a cultural destination by donating, buying tickets, or sharing videos with your friends.
