STORIES BEHIND THE LENS.
Every photograph holds two stories: the one inside the frame, and the one it took to capture it.
Join us on Wednesday, July 29 for Click • Capture • Create — a special evening with the photographers of Emberlight Photographers 2026, celebrating the artists and images that have helped define the visual identity of Emberlight Festival.
Since 2021, Emberlight’s photography team has captured more than 6,000 images documenting the festival’s performances, landscapes, artists, and unforgettable moments. This year’s exhibition is the largest in festival history, featuring more photographers and breathtaking images than ever before.
Hosted by photographer Ken Wiele, the evening brings together multi-year Emberlight photographers for an engaging conversation about creativity, storytelling, travel, and the pursuit of extraordinary images. From photographing the rugged beauty of Lake Superior to capturing intimate portraits and fleeting festival moments, the artists will share the experiences, challenges, and adventures behind some of their favorite photographs.
Throughout the evening, audiences will have the opportunity to meet the photographers, hear the stories behind the images, and gain insider tips on some of the Northwoods’ most stunning photography locations.
Part artist talk, part visual journey, and part behind-the-scenes exploration of the creative process, Click • Capture • Create offers a rare opportunity to experience photography not simply as finished images on a wall, but as a way of seeing the world itself.

MORE ART TO DISCOVER
In addition to Emberlight Photographers, which has become one of the festival’s signature events, we are pleased to expand our photography offerings this summer.
Pathways in Photography offers free classes with members of our Photography Team in three distinct techniques: Nature Photography Walk (June 27), Beyond the Snapshot (June 27), and Superior at Night (July 15). Click • Capture • Create (July 29) is also back this summer, bringing audiences “behind the lens” with stories and anecdotes from our photographers, hosted by Ken Wiele.
