WHERE NATURE TEACHES THE EYE TO DREAM.
Slow down. Look closer. The trail is full of photographs waiting to happen.
Join members of Emberlight’s photography team for A Nature Photography Walk, an immersive outdoor workshop exploring the art of seeing the natural world through a photographer’s eye.
Set within the breathtaking landscape of Miners Memorial Heritage Park, this hands-on experience invites participants to walk the trails alongside professional and experienced photographers while discovering the creative possibilities hidden in light, texture, color, movement, and perspective. Along the way, instructors will offer practical guidance on composition, framing, focus, and camera settings — whether you’re working with an iPhone, DSLR, or mirrorless camera.
Designed for both beginners and experienced photographers alike, the workshop encourages participants not simply to document the landscape, but to engage with it artistically and intentionally. You’ll learn how small adjustments in perspective and timing can transform an ordinary snapshot into a striking image.
Participants are invited to submit a favorite photograph from the workshop to be featured on the Emberlight website and as part of the 2026 Emberlight Photographers exhibition at the Historic Depot Museum.

TEACHERS

MORE ART TO DISCOVER
In addition to Emberlight Photographers, which has become one of the festival’s signature events, we are pleased to expand our photography offerings this summer.
Pathways in Photography offers free classes with members of our Photography Team in three distinct techniques: Nature Photography Walk (June 27), Beyond the Snapshot (June 27), and Superior at Night (July 15). Click • Capture • Create (July 29) is also back this summer, bringing audiences “behind the lens” with stories and anecdotes from our photographers, hosted by Ken Wiele.
