Festival Ironwood begins here.
Join us on Wednesday, July 15 at 4:00 pm at the Historic Depot Museum for the opening reception of Emberlight Photographers 2026 — an evening celebrating the artists, images, and visual storytelling that have become one of the festival’s signature traditions.
Be among the first to experience this year’s exhibition featuring breathtaking photography from across the Northwoods and beyond: sweeping landscapes, intimate portraits, striking wildlife imagery, documentary moments, and unexpected glimpses of beauty captured through the eyes of Emberlight’s photography team and guest artists.
Throughout the evening, guests can meet the photographers, hear the stories behind the images, and explore the exhibition as Festival Ironwood officially comes to life across downtown Ironwood.
The reception will also feature the announcement of this year’s Art in the Park awards:
- Grand Prize — $1,500
- Emberlight Choice Prize — $500
In addition, the online auction for all photographs in the exhibition officially opens that evening, with bidding continuing through August 22. Winning bidders will take home their selected works at the conclusion of the festival.
Part gallery opening. Part community celebration. Part artistic kickoff to one of the biggest weekends of the summer.

In addition to Emberlight Photographers, which has become one of the festival’s signature events, we are pleased to expand our photography offerings this summer.
Pathways in Photography offers free classes with members of our Photography Team in three distinct techniques: Nature Photography Walk (June 27), Beyond the Snapshot (June 27), and Superior at Night (July 15). Click • Capture • Create (July 29) is also back this summer, bringing audiences “behind the lens” with stories and anecdotes from our photographers, hosted by Ken Wiele.
