Emberlight is happy to collaborate with the Downtown Art Place once again to promote their upcoming show in the Historic Ironwood Theatre concourse. This juried exhibition with $1,000 in prizes will be open to the public on Tuesdays through Sundays from noon to 4:00 PM.

For nearly 70 years, the Range Art Association has celebrated the Gogebic Range’s cultural heritage by promoting the diverse and vibrant work of the region’s artists. Come view the incredible talent on display as the Association hosts its 68th annual show in Ironwood’s Historic Memorial Building auditorium.

Get to know powerhouse performers Ann and Madeleine as musicians and as people before you see them onstage on August 19! Audience questions will be encouraged as Emberlight Creative Producer Cindy Franck guides a conversation between the soprano and pianist as they share the beginnings of their classical music careers, the repertoire they most enjoy performing, how they’re building 21st century classical music careers, and why classical music is still relevant in the digital age.

BECOMING TINKER

Tinker Schuman — a pipe carrier, healer, poet and artist, and an elder in the Lac du Flambeau Ojibwe tribe known as Migizikwe, or Eagle Woman — will treat audiences to a cultural journey. The author will read her poetry, tell fascinating tales from her life as a sundancer, jingle dress dancer, poet, and leader of women ceremonies and water ceremonies, and guide the audience through the creation of free verse.

BUYER & CELLAR OPEN REHEARSAL

Join director Colton Pometta and star Miles Mykkanen for a working rehearsal of the deliciously witty Buyer & Cellar, a one-man play by Jonathan Tolins about Alex, an out-of-work, aspiring actor hired for a mysterious job at the home of the legendary Barbra Streisand. The rehearsal will be followed by a lively Q&A with Colton and Miles.
